The Sale of a Pungo

The pungo sells...finally. I was beginning to wonder. It seems I didn't get very many hits on the Pungo 140, but then again the weather did dip back down to chilly, windy, and wet conditions. I mean, who would want to yak in that...well, I do know a guy. Anyways, I set out a price of 750$ initially, and after 2 failed contacts, and several days of no hits, I dropped it 50$. Still nothing. I remember looking out in my garage at the 14ft by 25inch space that was being occupied by an unused kayak, and really hoping someone would bite. They did. Sitting in my chair at work I checked my phone and realized I had missed a text.

Thinking it was my wife, I casually opened it up to a message saying "I'm interested in your kayak, does it come with a paddle". Sadly, no paddle to accompany the yak. However, the buyer was still interested, and so we chose to meet that night at the Sherriff station. I do all my craigslist purchases at the Sherriff office, not because I'm paranoid of who I might be meeting...wait, yes, actually that is why! I just don't want to show bad people where I live. The second reason, is because for whatever reason, people just can't seem to find my home on Google maps. Anyways, I did meet up with the fellow, and like most of my sells on craigslist, it turned out to be just fine. He was about 55 years old I'd say, and worked as maintenance at one of the state parks near by. He was ready to yak! The sale was made, and now I have more space in the garage. It turned out to be a great day! The Wilderness Systems went from a "PunGO" to a "This-pung-has-to-GO"! I am happy to say I recovered most of my money from what I will deem a "lesson-learned-purchase."
